Start To Finish
What to Expect
Plan Ahead
Book your appointment at least 2 weeks before any major event to allow your results to fully develop and for any bruising, redness, or swelling to subside.
Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications
For at least 3–5 days before your appointment, we recommend stopping aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen, and other NSAIDs. This helps minimize bruising and bleeding. Always consult your doctor before discontinuing any prescribed medications.
Wait on Supplements
For 3 days prior to your appointment, hold off on taking fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, garlic, and St. John’s Wort, as these may increase the risk of bruising.
Skip Alcohol
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment to help minimize bruising, swelling, and bleeding.
Feeling Off?
Please reschedule your appointment if you’re feeling sick or have an active rash or infection in the area you plan to treat.
Pregnant or Breastfeeding
This treatment is not suitable if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
Consultation
Your injector will begin with a consultation to discuss your goals, areas of concern, analyze your skin, and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Cleanse
We’ll cleanse and prep your skin before starting the treatment.
Injections
The injections themselves only take a few minutes and are generally well tolerated. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch.
Results
You’ll begin to notice results within 3–5 days, with full results settling in around 2 weeks.
Immediately After
You may experience slight redness, swelling, tiny bumps, or pinpoint bleeding at the injection sites. This is completely normal and typically subsides quickly.
Hands Off
Even though it may be tempting, avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated areas for the rest of the day.
Stay Elevated
Stay upright for at least 4 hours following your treatment.
Keep it Cool
Avoid hot showers, saunas, intense workouts, or anything that can increase swelling and interfere with your skin healing for at least 24 hours.
Skip Additional Treatments
Avoid facials, massages, or other skin treatments for at least 2 weeks.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is "Tox"?
Tox is a general term we use to describe wrinkle-relaxing treatments like Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify®. These injectables are made from a purified protein that helps relax the facial muscles responsible for expression lines like frowning, squinting, or raising your brows.
Is it safe?
Yes, when performed by a licensed and experienced provider, wrinkle relaxers are safe. These treatments have been used for decades in both aesthetic and medical settings, including for migraines, jaw tension, and excessive sweating. The product stays in the area where it’s injected and naturally wears off over time. However, with any medical treatment, there are potential risks and side effects, so it’s important to discuss your medical history and concerns beforehand. Individual results may vary. A consultation is required to determine if Tox is right for you.
Why should I get Tox?
Tox doesn’t just treat lines that are already there. It also helps prevent deeper wrinkles from forming and gives your skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. It can also improve facial balance, soften a gummy smile, or ease jaw tension. Many of our clients love the subtle lift and glow they get with regular treatments.
How long do results last?
Most Tox treatments last around 3 to 4 months, depending on your metabolism and the product used. If it’s your first time, your body might break it down a little faster. With consistent treatments, results often last longer. Some options, like Daxxify®, are designed to last even longer than traditional products. We’ll help you choose what’s best for your goals.
Does it hurt?
The treatment is delivered with a tiny needle, so most people feel just a quick pinch. The entire process typically takes just 20-45 minutes.
